Working from home while raising kids can be messy and challenging, but also wonderfully rewarding. We are women who embrace all of it.

The Homemade Bread Society is all about...

Not fitting into a one-size-fits-all mold of how our motherhood, womanhood, and careers should be. Just like all of the different kinds of bread--Yeast, quick, fry, flat, rolls, loaves, muffins, pretzels, donuts--all formed from pretty much the same ingredients; just different combinations, quantities, and cooking methods. Just like us!
Striving for things that challenge us beyond our comfort zones. (example... one of my most devastating kitchen experiences was over an attempted loaf of "simple" white bread).
Infusing wholesome learning + growing experiences all throughout our homes and communities (have you smelled homemade bread!? HEAVEN.)
Creating lasting memories with our kids, that they'll carry through life and into their own future families.
Following basic principles, but adding our own edits to make it work for our talents and tastes.
Slowing down and doing some things the old-fashioned way (i.e. taking time to let the ingredients work together, rather than rushing just to check things off of a list)
Creating connection and sharing with others (there's always an extra loaf to give away).
Making space for God to work with us, through our Savior, Jesus Christ (the bread of life)
Exchanging the quick and easy for the messier, more challenging, but SO much more rewarding results.
Total engagement -- rolling up our sleeves and getting in with both of our hands.
Embracing the mess and allowing room for the magic.

No catch. I've been blessed to have some incredible friends and mentors who taught me what I know, and this is my way of paying it forward (I have a lot of it to do).

That said, out of full transparency, my dream is to expand my network of women like me -- women who love the Lord and view motherhood as a sacred calling, and who also believe in the importance of developing their own strengths and gifts through work. Women who are willing to push beyond their comfort zones and perceived cultural "norms." Women who feel called to "something bigger."
