What if She is like water?

A few years ago, I went on a solo trip to a friend's wedding, where I got to stay at a home near the beach. The wedding was my main reason for travel, but I decided to also use the time as a sort of pilgrimage to understand more about my Heavenly Mother. I felt strongly connected to my Heavenly Father, but I had this deep ache to know my Mother more.
I went out early one morning and walked on my favorite beach, taking the prayer in my heart to learn whatever I could about Her. I walked along the shore for about 3 hours -- taking in the glorious and powerful nature of the waves and seeing the sunlight sparkle on the surface. As I sat to write in my journal, a simple yet sacred and beautiful lesson came to my mind, in the form of a question:
"What if She is like water?"
When that thought came, I felt a powerful feeling in my soul that said this was worth exploring.
I sat and watched the ocean, while breathing in the misty air. I looked up at the sky, at the clouds that also contained water. I then looked at my own hands, arms, legs, and feet and thought about how much of my body was made of water.
It's impossible to define or measure the full influence of water. It is in everything. So is She.
Water is also incredibly powerful. It can cut through stone and carve massive canyons in the earth. Yet in other times it flows so peacefully and gently. Just like She can.
Water is the giver of life on our planet. So is the influence of a Mother.
I know I'm still just beginning to understand Her, but I know more ideas will come as I search and listen.
While you celebrate the Mothers in your life today, I invite you to take some time to consider what She means to you, and where you see and feel Her influence in your life. Maybe, like water, you'll find her everywhere.
