Trying to be someone you're not

Some criticisms are pretty funny if you actually look at what's true. One of my favorites is, "it's like you're trying to be someone you're not."

Um... exactly.

How else are we going to become stronger, wiser, kinder, more generous, more powerful, more true, more fearless...if we only try to be who we are in the present? Yes, authenticity is important. Always live to your values. But please join with me in envisioning someone so much bigger than who we are, and living true to that greatness.

Isn't that why we're all here -- to become different creatures, leaving this existence vastly different than we were when we first arrived?

Trying to be someone you're not (yet) is a great strategy for becoming who you are meant to be. To progress toward a future we want, we have to live differently than our present. That's how progress happens, especially the transformational kind.

Keep it up, friend. I sure will be.
