Spring always comes back

I don't know about where you live, but here in Virginia it's been a long winter. Some weeks, it's seemed like this season will never end.

But driving to church today and seeing the trees whose bare branches have started to show little hints of something new, I realized that -- even with the coldest days we've had in years -- the trees hold a knowing that there are brighter and warmer days ahead. They're forming their buds because they know the truth:  Spring always returns.

May we hold the same hope, through the metaphorical winters of our own lives. Because of Him, frigid winds turn to gentle breezes; gray skies turn to sunny ones; barren branches clothe in frilled blooms. Because of Him, spring always returns.
