My seeds didn't work.

freedom personal growth

I found an Ace Hardware bag in a "to organize" box today (please tell me I'm not the only one), and inside were 5 packets of seeds: watermelon, summer squash, pumpkin, snap peas, and basil.

They didn't grow.

I had the best  plans for them when I bought them this spring. We'd munch on our own juicy watermelon slices, grill our own squash, and carve our own jack-o-lanterns at Halloween time (guaranteed Chris is laughing right now).

My seeds didn't work.

Not because of the seeds themselves; not because my intentions weren't good enough. It was only because there was a mismatch between my actions and what I wanted.

... or, if I'm being totally honest, my actions matched what I wanted even more (even if I didn't realize it): comfort and ease, instead of planting and tending.

I could complain that I have to buy our watermelon, squash, pumpkins, peas, and basil, or I can accept the choice I made and do things differently next year. The former burns unnecessary energy. The latter is action-focused freedom.
