Remodeling

choosing happiness relationships trust

We bought a home 4 years ago with a beautifully landscaped backyard... that would be perfect for a family with no kids. Several features were impractical for our crew, so we're in an extended DIY remodel.

It's hard.

And not just the physical labor. What I didn't expect is the emotional work required. There were parts of it that I really loved when we bought the house, which have been really hard to let go of.

If I focus on what we're losing, I feel sad. If, instead, I focus on the vision we have for the upgraded design, and what I can do to help get us there faster, then I can still feel sad but also excited about what is to come. .
