Ready or not --> Ready enough...

courage enough faith personal growth trust

Hide and Seek is one of the favorite games at our house. The person who is "it" waits downstairs, counts to 30, and then yells at the top of their lungs, "READY OR NOT, HERE I COME!" They then hunt the corners and closets around the house, looking for the rest of the family (everyone dreads being "it" and looking for my husband, Chris, because he gets a serious kick out of scaring the daylights out of you when you're about to find him! NOT COOL!!).

That line, "Ready or not..." was on my mind a lot today. When you're in the hiding role in the game, you're rushing around trying to come up with the most clever spot you can find. As you hear the countdown approach zero, you have to make some big decisions: stick with your current plan, or make a last-second switch and hope you don't get caught. The best spots I've found are the ones where you're ready enough when the counter reaches zero.

The beautiful thing about ready  enough is that it leaves a room for you to keep adjusting while you hear them in the other areas of the house.

It's the same way in real life.

We have projects or things that we'd like to change, and it's easy to get stuck in the black and white ready or not" mentality and prevent ever launching anything because we're waiting to be 100% ready. There's a lot more freedom and flexibility with "ready enough." It does require some vulnerability, admitting that it could be better, but people will love watching your progress and even possibly weighing in on how to make it absolutely fantastic.

Let's let go of "ready or not," and yell at the top of our lungs, "Ready enough! HERE I COME!"
