Puppies don't wait for invitations

I love learning from nature and animals. I think they're a gift from God, to help guide us and teach us eternal principles during this Earth experience.

One thing I'm learning is through our new puppy, Charlie, who is 7 months old now. She is so full of life and love! Each member of our party of 6 gets equal amounts of enthusiasm when we walk in the room, and she'll come up and try to play with any one of us who looks even remotely available. She'll also jump up on the couch and either crawl on our laps or nuzzle in and snuggle, regardless of what we're "busy" doing. She doesn't wait to be invited. She just loves us and wants to express it.

I think sometimes we humans hold ourselves back with our reasoning, when we really don't need to. We feel excited about something, or want to express our feelings, but talk ourselves out of it or play small because we worry about what people will think, or that it's "uncalled for." We wait for permission or an invitation.

Obviously there are boundaries and things we need to be sensitive to, but what if we brought in a little bit more of that puppy energy with the people we care about? What if we have a little less fear and hesitation, and just went for it? Sure, it might shock your loved ones at first, but I bet they'll get used to it pretty quick. And you'll feel a lot more like you, which is something we need a lot more of.
