The gift of peace

peace

When a gift is given, there is a 3-part (minimum) exchange that takes place.

(1) The giver offers it, but the act of offering does nothing if it isn't (2) received, then (3) used.

...and ideally (4) the receiver expresses gratitude.

In other words, someone can give you something -- even the most exquisite gift in the history of the world -- but it won't do you any good if you don't receive it and then use it.

The gift of peace is available to each of us, regardless of our circumstances. This kind of peace doesn't come from the outside. It is only found in the protected caverns of our souls -- intentionally placed so deeply that no other being can reach it.

And we don't need to wait for it. It's already there.

Others can sometimes help lead us to it, but only we can access it for ourselves. Whether you feel close to it or far away, it is there -- a treasure too valuable and too useful to leave unused.
