Frenzy doesn't have to come along.

I've been craving deeper connection with women in my life, so I invited a handful of church friends over for brunch this week. I was so excited leading up to it, and then the morning of I felt the stress and then frenzied thoughts start to bubble up during my writing time before getting the kids off to school. Thankfully I caught myself, and the thought came: "Frenzy is not a required part of this experience." And with that, I took a deep inhale, then an exhale, ahhhhhhh. The stress was gone.

I remembered that I had specifically designed this gathering to include only women I felt like I could be myself around. Yes, I wanted them to feel welcome and valued, but none of it had to be perfect.

It turned out to be the best thing I've hosted to date in terms of authentic connection and substantial topics of conversation. And it all formed naturally. I didn't have to manufacture anything (which was what my frenzied mind was fretting over that morning).

When we design our experiences intentionally, the frenzy can stay home where it belongs.

Inhale.

Exhale.

You have time.

You are enough.
