Fairy tale middles

courage faith potential trust

We hear plenty about "fairy tale endings," but no one really mentions the "fairy tale middle." If you think about it, though, that's the part we love the most -- the part where the heroine really becomes who she is meant to be. It's where Snow White meets and builds friendships with the Seven Dwarfs; Belle courageously sacrifices for her father's freedom, and Cinderella fights through unfairness and unkindness as she tirelessly scrubs floors (which, bonus, helps her build killer arms for that stunning ballgown).

In our own "fairy tale middle"s, it's easy to focus on the struggles of today. We're tired, and that's all we see. But zooming out and peeking ahead, the scrubbing and sacrifices we do today are for a purpose. They're building us, one courageous choice at a time, into the victors we are destined to be.
