Childlike determination

Determination is the fuel that takes us from the unknown into possibility, and children seem to have it in concentrated form (the metaphorical equivalent of rocket fuel).

Watching our kids start with a desire then go for it with determination is absolutely inspiring. Whether it's learning to ride a bike, organizing an outing with friends, applying to be picked for a special field trip, or learning a new song, they find something that they want, and they're determined to make it happen. They have no idea how they're going to get there, but that doesn't stop them. With a clear vision of what they want to accomplish and the unwavering commitment to make it happen, they work at it bit by bit until they reach their goal.

We can do the same. We begin with desire and a clear vision of what we want, actively choose to commit (even when the conditions aren't ideal), then put in the work on what we can control, we (with God's expediting help, if we'll allow it) find the people, tools, and steps that help us get where we want to go.

It's not easy, but if we approach our goal with childlike determination, it can actually be a powerfully simple process.
