Blind faith and blind doubt

I’ve heard people talk about blind faith, but I haven’t heard anything about blind doubt. I want to talk about it.

Blind faith says, "I will believe, without any evidence, facts, or analysis."

Blind doubt says, "I refuse to believe, regardless of any supporting evidence, facts, or analysis."

Neither is wise nor helpful for our growth. They're both based in fear.

We can choose a form of faith that facilitates learning and growth -- knowing enough to take a leap, but trusting in power and vision beyond our own.

We can also choose a form of doubt that comes from a place of curiosity and skepticism, rather than cynicism. This helps us study, ponder, and truly explore, rather than seeing something new and assuming it's wrong simply because it's different than what we know and see.

We may walk into life experiences blindly, but we certainly don't have to stay there. God has immense beauty to share if we'll open our eyes to it.
