You're in! Welcome to the Homemade Bread Society

FRIEND. I'm so happy you're here! I know your time and energy are precious commodities, so I don't take this lightly. I solemnly swear to do everything I can to make it worth your while.

I just sent you an email with some thoughts I've had about you and this project...I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I'll be in touch over the coming days with some workshops/courses to look into, along with your resource library.

In the meantime, if you know a friend, sister, or neighbor who could benefit from this content, please share the link with her! I want to get these resources out to as many faith-centered moms as possible.

More to come!

How the Homemade Bread Society Was Born

By Shalon Ironroad (Pronunciation guide: rhymes with "salon")

My "homemade bread" journey began when I was 7 years old. My mom was diagnosed with Leukemia right after Halloween, entered the hospital around Thanksgiving, and passed away right after Christmas. It was an unexpected whirlwind that rocked my family, in some ways we'll never recover from. Even though it happened when I was a child, it shifted my philosophy and approach to motherhood decades later.

Losing my mom taught me many things -- one of which being that none of us know how much time we have here on this rollercoaster of life. Her passing is a daily reminder to me that our time here -- messy and unpredictable and imperfect as it is -- is a gift. And to spend it with the people we love most is something to treasure.

AND. That said...

Supporting a family is expensive. Life in today's world typically requires more than a single income. That's what brought me to this work-from-home journey. My husband was in law school, and our family needed both of us to contribute financially. Daycare didn't make sense for us, so I learned how to create my own business from home. In many ways it was the harder choice than getting an office job. But the moments of connection with my kids it has allowed me is worth every bit of mess and challenge.

That's where this project comes in. I'm sharing what I've learned over the last 16+ years of working from home with kids, in hopes of helping you create what works best for your family (or at least showing you plenty of options to choose from) while enriching your relationship with your motherhood.

I can't wait to learn more about you. Welcome to the Homemade Bread Society!
